For Labels
Dedicated distribution for independent labels.
Run your label. We handle the distribution, accounting and delivery — so your time goes into signing artists and shipping records, not chasing spreadsheets.
Labels work under the same Motiva Groove distribution agreement as every Client — standard terms are 80% to you and 20% to Motiva Groove of Net Receipts. Different commercial terms apply only where expressly agreed in writing.
Distribute worldwide
One delivery reaches the stores on your plan — streaming, download and social platforms, with the dance stores your catalogue depends on.
01
Deliver your catalogue to Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport, Traxsource, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer, SoundCloud, TikTok and more — over 100 platforms and stores worldwide.
One delivery per release reaches every store on your plan. You retain ownership of your masters and your publishing — distribution never takes ownership of your catalogue.
02
A label is a roster, not a single account. Manage everyone from one place.
03
A single total tells you nothing. You need to see where every cent came from.
Earnings drilldown
Monthly accounting
Statements are prepared on a monthly cycle, subject to the corresponding DSP and store reports being received and processed.
Artist splits
Set a split per track and let the system apportion it.
Store and country detail
See which store and which territory produced the revenue.
04
Label revenue splits down to each artist automatically, so you are not rebuilding statements by hand every month.
Example artist statement
Figures shown are an example to illustrate how a statement is broken down. They are not actual earnings.
05
Every eligible release is automatically submitted for promotional consideration as part of distribution, where the store or platform supports it.
Final editorial placement, Hype, playlists, featuring, charts and any other promotional placement are decided by the relevant store or platform and are not guaranteed.
Press, radio and DJ campaigns are not part of standard distribution unless separately agreed in writing.
Spotify editorial
Submitted for editorial consideration where available
Apple Music
Submitted for editorial consideration where available
Beatport
Submitted for store promotion; Hype and featuring are Beatport's decision
Traxsource
Submitted for store promotion; Hype and featuring are Traxsource's decision
Juno Download
DJ and specialist retail
SoundCloud
Delivery where supported; reposts are not part of the standard service
06
Monetise eligible user-generated content on YouTube and YouTube Shorts, where supported.
Where supported and eligible, recordings can be registered as Content ID assets so that videos using your music may generate revenue for the label. Eligibility, claims and monetisation are decided by YouTube and are not guaranteed. Opt-out is available where supported.
07
Release strategy is part of running a label. These are the controls a dance label actually uses.
Pre-orders
Open a release for pre-order on Beatport and Traxsource ahead of its street date, subject to store eligibility.
Store exclusives
Set a store-exclusive release date before the wide release, where the store supports it.
Territory selection
Choose the countries and territories where each release is made available.
08
Most of running a label is not launches. It is codes, dates, credits and corrections — across a catalogue that only grows.
Unlimited labels, artists and releases
No cap on roster size or catalogue depth.
ISRC and EAN/UPC management
EAN/UPC generated per release; codes tracked per track and per release.
Release date scheduling
Set and move release dates across the catalogue.
Store selection
Choose which stores and platforms receive each release.
Territory selection
Choose the countries and territories where each release is available.
Contributor and credit management
Writers, producers, performers and remixers per track.
Metadata editing and corrections
Fix titles, credits and artwork after delivery.
Bulk catalogue workflows
Work across many releases instead of one at a time.
Catalogue transfer
Move an existing catalogue in, retaining original release dates and existing ISRC/UPC codes where appropriate. Codes can assist matching; stream counts, playlists, saves and charts are controlled by the DSPs and are not guaranteed to carry over.
Release analytics
Performance per release, per store and per country.
08
Mastering is usually charged per track, which turns a twelve-track album into a line item before it earns anything. Our mastering tool is currently in beta and free to use while it is available.

Two ways
Most labels run their own roster and use us for the plumbing. Some would rather hand over the day-to-day work. Both use the same core distribution relationship.
Self-managed
You keep the label and the roster. We handle distribution, catalogue delivery, royalty accounting, artist statements, pitching support where available and mastering (beta). You sign artists, set splits and decide the schedule.
Standard terms: the Motiva Groove distribution agreement, 80% / 20% of Net Receipts.
Managed by us
Our team handles the operational work on your behalf — onboarding, metadata, release preparation, scheduling and delivery administration. For catalogue owners and founders who would rather not run the day-to-day.
Same distribution agreement and the same standard 80% / 20% split. Managed is service assistance — not a label deal, not an advance, and no guaranteed marketing, pitching or placement.
Different commercial terms for either mode apply only where expressly agreed in writing.
Apply
Distribution, catalogue management, reporting, pitching support and mastering (beta) in one place.
Send us your label name, roster size, catalogue size and roughly how many releases you ship a year. We will review your application and come back to you.
Labels sign the same distribution agreement as artists, with the standard 80 / 20 split of Net Receipts. Different commercial terms apply only where expressly agreed in writing.
